NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series is my favorite show. I’m constantly finding new favorite artists there, and I’m almost ashamed to admit this was the first time I’d heard of Mandolin Orange. They’re my new favorite group now. Mandolin Orange should be heard live whenever possible. The recordings are worth buying, but I will be looking out for these guys when they come to my neck of the woods.
Andrew Marlin and Emily Frantz have the most easy and beautiful harmony. The husband and wife duo, from the Chapel Hill area of North Carolina, has been making music since 2009, and their latest album, Tides Of A Teardrop, has received some pretty good reviews. I know I’ve had it on repeat for days myself.
We’ll definitely continue to follow Mandolin Orange through there already decade’s old journey through the music industry, just another johnny come lately to their brilliance.
